This six-week course explores the fundamentals and advanced techniques of hyperrealistic art. Students will start with an understanding of hyperrealism, setting up their workspace, and selecting essential tools. They will master shading techniques, value recognition, and contrast, progressing to capturing textures and patterns with fine detail. The course introduces human portraiture, focusing on facial proportions, features, and basic skin textures, before integrating color theory and colored pencil techniques. In the final week, students will apply advanced shading and reflection techniques to complete a hyperrealistic masterpiece. Weekly assignments build foundational skills, culminating in a personalized final project.
Please bring a 9” x 12” drawing pad like this one and a photograph or image you would like to use for reference material. All other supplies included.
