The students will learn basic clay techniques to build high-fired garden gnomes. They can be any gender, shape, or size and personalized to look like someone you know. Multi-color clays will be used, and the instructor will "patina" the pieces after bisque-firing them.
All ages of students are welcome! Any student under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pieces will be ready in three weeks to display in your yard, coffee table, or bedroom!

Get ready for a fun-filled adventure in the world of clay! In this 4-day summer camp, young artists will explore the exciting process of shaping and sculpting clay to create their very own masterpieces. This hands-on camp is perfect for children ages 5-7 who love to get creative and work with their hands.
Students will learn how to mold and shape soft clay using their hands and simple tools. They'll discover how to create basic shapes and fun characters, developing their fine motor skills while having a blast with their creations. By the end of the camp, each child will have their own collection of clay creations, from cute animals to silly characters and fun shapes. They’ll also have the chance to paint and decorate their sculptures, making them as colorful and unique as their imaginations!

Play with Clay (Ages 8 - 10)

Over the course of 4 fun-filled days, students will learn the art of shaping and sculpting clay to create their own unique pieces. This hands-on camp is perfect for young artists eager to explore the world of sculpture while developing their fine motor skills and artistic expression.
By the end of the camp, each student will have crafted a collection of sculpted clay pieces, including their own personalized creations such as figurines, animals, or abstract designs. Students will also have the chance to paint and finish their sculptures, bringing them to life in vibrant colors!
Please remember to bring a lunch and get ready to embark on an adventure of creativity, fun, and hands-on clay sculpting!

Students will learn basic clay techniques to build a village house for your fairy garden or a toad refuge. With your unique creation you can adorn your yard, table, or deck! Decorate with fairy lights for a lovely holiday centerpiece. The instructor will patina the pieces after bisque firing.

Clay Snakes
Dates: Sunday, March 2 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Each snake's head and tail will be made and glazed in class. Students will pound bottlecaps with a nail and create the body on heavy wire. Your instructor will return the snake assembled. This snake might just be able to keep unwanted creatures or birds away from the fruit on your trees! (But no promises!)
Artworks will be returned after the teacher fires them at her home and returns to Schack (usually takes one full month.)

Clay Masks
