Throughout the four-week duration, students will delve into the fundamental techniques, safety protocols, and artistic expressions of working with borosilicate glass.
Week one we will focus on safety, tools, and colors, and students will get the opportunity to make small solid pieces. Week two will focus on building with pieces and welding techniques. Week three will focus on hollow work, how to weld hollow glass, and finishing off projects from the previous weeks.

Ceramic Garden Gnomes

Bring your imagination to life in our puppet-making summer camp! This hands-on camp will teach you how to create your very own puppets using various materials. Students will learn the basics of puppet-making, including how to create different types of puppets, like hand puppets, sock puppets, and marionettes. They’ll experiment with materials and techniques to design characters with their own unique personalities and features.

Clay Snakes

Creating tiny glass hearts is a fun introduction to sculpting with glass. Using rods of borosilicate glass and bench-mounted flameworking torches, students will learn how to melt and shape glass. Different methods of applying color will be covered.
Students will learn how to safely operate a flameworking torch and how to use the flame to melt and shape borosilicate glass into heart shapes. We will also experiment with applying frit and stringer to the hot glass for added color and decoration.
Students will make several small (3/4"-1") glass hearts.

During this hands-on class, you will be making two spoons. Get started with the basic skills and safety practices while carving a simple and useful kitchen spoon. These skills will help you become prepared for future wood carving projects that you can use in another class or at home.

Creating tiny glass hearts is a fun introduction to sculpting with glass. Using rods of borosilicate glass and bench-mounted flameworking torches, students will learn how to melt and shape glass. Different methods of applying color will be covered.
Students will learn how to safely operate a flameworking torch and how to use the flame to melt and shape borosilicate glass into heart shapes. We will also experiment with applying frit and stringer to the hot glass for added color and decoration.
Students will make several small (3/4"-1") glass hearts.

The students will learn how to cut and nip glass, different adhesives, substrates, tesserae, and grouting methods used in creating mosaics.
In this course, the student will learn 3 different techniques, glass on wood, glass on glass, and the indirect method of mosaics.
We will create mosaic coasters, a glass sun catcher mosaic, and an indirect cast mosaic.
*All supplies are included in this class, but students may bring special additions to their mosaics.
