You will be creating fused glass ornaments to hang on your tree and/or to give as gifts. Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will decorate pre-cut ornament shapes with frit, stringers, noodles, and nuggets. We will also add some dichroic scrap pieces for some extra bling. You will get to create five ornaments that you decorate just like your cutout cookies at the holidays.

This class will give you a chance to create a fused glass project even if you have never worked with any kind of glass before.
Students will learn basic fusing concepts and will have a chance to use frit with the precut shapes.
You will be creating an 8" square curved plate with a snowman in a winter scene to use at your holiday gatherings.

You will make a 2 3/4” x 24” fused glass panel to insert into a wrought iron garden stake that stands approximately 43” high. Class includes all supplies and the garden stake.
Glass will be fired outside of class and ready for pick up at the Schack Art Center at a later date.

This two-day workshop offers a foundational introduction to the art of kiln-fused glass. Participants will acquire essential skills in glass cutting, color combination, and gain insights into the annealing processes specific to kiln-formed glass.
Working with an extensive range of glass colors and types, from sheets to powders, students will have the opportunity to design and construct diverse small-scale glass artworks. Whether you aspire to create artistic pieces or functional plates, this class accommodates both pursuits. Bring your imagination and enthusiasm for experimentation as no prior experience is required, and all necessary materials are provided.
